Emelya and the Magic Pike - One wintry day, Emelya catches a pike with magical powers. The fish promises to grant Emelya a wish in return for its freedom. Emelya announces his wish to marry the Tsar's daughter, and then releases the fish into the water. Later Emelya marries the princess despite the Tsar's disapproval.

The Snowmaiden - A childless couple makes a snowman in the image of a girl. The next day the snowman comes alive. She is a beautiful young maiden with skin as white as snow. The couple cherish the Snowmaiden and bring her up as their daughter.

Winter Troika - Her pails of water tumble as a beautiful young maiden is swept off her feet by a handsome young man.
