The chorus (in Russian) is: "Ой, рябина кудрявая, белые цветы, Ой, рябина, рябинушка, что взгрустнула ты"? (Oh my curly rowan tree with flowers so white, Oh my little rowan tree, why are you so sad?) 
 
The Firebird (Жар-птица) is mythical and magical bird that features in a number of well-known Russian fairy tales. These include, but are not limited to, The Firebird and Princess Vasilisa, Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf, The Humpbacked Horse and others. 
 
The Three Bogatyrs (Три богатыря) is a miniature lacquer painting on a crimson background depicting three legendary warriors from medieval times. The bogatyr was akin to the "knight-errant".The most of famous of these were Dobrynya Nikitich, Ilya Muromets and Alyosha Popovich.

The Scarlet Flower The Russian fairy tale, The Scarlet Flower, is similar to the tale of The Beauty and the Beast. Alenka, a young maiden, befriends the beast after her father gives her a scarlet flower - the most beautiful in the world.

Tsar Sultan This painting shows a scene from the Russian poem, Tsar Sultan by Alexander Pushkin. Caught in a wicked plot, Tsar Sultan's son, Prince Gvidon, and his mother are placed in a barrel and cast into the ocean. Later, Gvidon meets a magic swan who turns into a beautiful princess. This scene shows swan feathers near her feet.

Winter Troika Three powerful horses seem to fly across snow-covered fields as they pull a carriage in the Russian countryside.

Sleeping Princess This painting by T. Grinshina is her vision of the Russian fairy tale, Sleeping Princess. This scene depicts and old witch giving the princess the apple as her faithful dog barks to warn her of danger.
